Live to Play Sports supports Vancouver commuters at HUB’s Bike to Work Week

2014_10_DustanSept_BTWW-7509Over 4,300 riders took part in last month’s Bike to Work Week in Metro Vancouver where Norco Bicycles / LTP was on hand to support commuters and give away great prizing.

More than 30 Celebration Stations were set up around the city to encourage both new and experienced bike commuters to cycle to work.

Though weather was cold and rainy for much of the week, HUB reports that the event attracted more rides than ever, including 740 new cyclists!

As sponsor of the event, the Norco Bicycles offered tech support to riders at stations across the city and displayed bikes and accessories from Endura, Serfas, Knog, Axiom, and Topeak.

To get a better understanding of who is commuting in Vancouver, we surveyed more than 100 Bike to Work Week participants and learned that more than 90% of respondents commuted more than once weekly. When asked about what gear they valued most, lights came in on top (32%), next was fenders (23%), and locks (17%). Respondents said the gear they were most interested in purchasing next was apparel (20%), helmets (19%), and fenders (18%).

Congratulations to Paulette, Ron and Alain who won great Axiom gear in our draw, including a Kompressair G160 pump, Streamliner Disc DLX rack, and a set of Monsoon Aero DLX 35 panniers.

A great big thank you to Bikes on the Drive, JV Bikes, and House of Chain for volunteering their staff time and assisting with tech support!
