Live to Play Sports is excited to announce the sponsorship of Team Haro/Live to Play Sports.

Haro L2P

Supported by Haro Bikes, Fox Canada, and Joyride 150, the team roster includes some of Canada’s best rising BMX stars: Alex Wright, 16, and Emily Macpherson, 16, both from Kingston, ON, and Josh Samells, 15, of Milton, ON.

The team kicked off their 2014 season with a spring camp in Atlanta, GA, and Florida, supported by the Ontario Cycling Association. In the weeks since, the team has racked up an impressive number of podium finishes on their 2014 Haro Blackouts, including Alex’s first place finish in West Palm Beach at the Florida State Series’ 16x class, where Josh also took 5th place and Emily took 3rd.

“The new bikes are feeling amazing, the gear is running well and we are starting to get into the swing of the season,” said Josh.

Lads on the BoxAfter two weeks at home and getting some quality training in, the team headed to Quebec for the first round of the Quebec Cup. Both Alex and Josh were invited to race Senior Elite in Bromont and didn’t disappoint. Josh had some incredible performances even winning a moto ahead of Quebec’s best Senior athletes (not bad for a 15 year old). In the end it was Josh and Alex that both stood on the box. Emily didn’t have as much luck as she collided with a rider and crashed hurting her shoulder. After some scans and visit to the doctor she was told she would be out for 3 weeks, so we will see Emily back come late June when she makes the trip to Illinois for the Midwest Nationals.

After a strong block of training both Josh and Alex were back in action at the BMX Canada Limestone National event in Kingston, ON. Josh and Alex dominated both days taking wins in their classes.

The team will be heading to Rockford, Illinois, next to take on the biggest and best field in North America.
