Mikey Sylvestri fires up DH season with win in Nevada

“Gifted” One Industries-sponsored downhiller floats over Bootleg Canyon

For the second year in a row, talented up-and-comer downhill rider Mikey Sylvestri has won the Nevada State Downhill Championships this past weekend at Boulder City, Nevada. The Dean Racing Development (DRD) and One Industries-sponsored rider demolished the competition by nearly 5 seconds on Bootleg Canyon’s rough, moon-like terrain.

Sylvestri has been described as “one of the most gifted U.S. prospects in recent years” and pinkbike.com observed in a interview that “he’s got they eyes of the industry on him, in fact, he’s the buzz.”

Says 23-year-old Sylvestri of his recent win, “I had a great time this weekend out in Bootleg and I’m pretty pumped on my win there! I felt strong and I knew all of the lines well, so I knew I was going to be competitive.  My qualifier went pretty smooth, and I knew I had it in me to finish on top for finals. I’m just happy to start the season off with a win and focus on what’s ahead!”

Congratulations to Mike Sylvestri for his outstanding results. As a new addition to the DRD team, Mikey is proving himself a force to be reckoned with. All DRD team riders ride in DH helmets, gloves and apparel by One Industries.
