Mike Kazimer at Pinkbike.com spent the last six months beating up a pair of Five Ten Impact Pro MTB flat shoes, and his reaction was understandably glowing. The grip, solid feel, and stiffness of the Impact Pro set it apart form other shoes in the market, while being less bulky and lighter than previous versions.
Pinkbike’s review delves quickly into the construction of the Impact Pro. Five Ten shoes are known for their passionate design process and attention to detail, and this really shows through in the newest iterations of classics like the Impact. Featuring a polyurethane midsole and a Stealth S1 rubber outsole, the Impact Pro’s lifespan has been extended over the traditional foam insole, which could flatten out after several seasons of hard impacts. Stealth S1 rubber is used for the outsole, but with a new tread pattern for more off-the-bike grip and a longer lifespan.
“…the Impact Pro’s comfort and durability is tough to beat.”

While riding through hub-deep water is almost guaranteed to result in soaked feet no matter what shoes you use, the new synthetic upper of the Impact Pro is designed to dry quickly, and get you back on the bike when the sun returns.
Other lifespan-extending features include increased armour around the toe-box and additional stitching around the sole to prevent delimitation after heavy use and aggressive washing.
“Five Ten’s Impact Pro hits the mark, with an excellent fit, unmatched grip, and a burly construction capable of withstanding plenty of use and abuse.”
