The larger tire footprint inspires confidence uphill and downhill. While they might not be as playful or fast as narrower tires, they can make the experience more enjoyable overall.
“The secret to mountain biking is to ride with in your ability 80% of the time, in order to enjoy yourself. You don’t want to feel like you might die every time you hit the trails but it’s good to feel like you might die trying something out SOMETIMES! Try and ride with buddies that are of a similar skill level or higher and same riding style, so you improve. FUN is definitely the most important factor in there.”
