The Cane Creek Helm fork is a new addition to the mountain bike fork market that’s creating quite a storm. The market is currently dominated by Rockshox’s immensely popular Pike, and several other companies have competing models, leaving many wondering what another trailbike and Enduro fork could bring to the game. Cane Creek is aware of this concern; the Helm fork brings a level of adjustability and reliability to the market that is sorely needed.
The Helm is unique for many reasons, but in our eyes, the most important of these are its adjustability, dependability, and adaptability. Cane Creek leads the industry in these aspects, and here’s why:
Adjustability:
One of the coolest features of the Helm fork is its ability to suit so many bikes. With an immensely stiff chassis in Boost spacing, you’d expect the fork to weigh in at more than its 4.5 pound total weight. With these features in mind, it’s easy to see how the Helm is suitable for both Trailbikes and Enduro bikes alike. Most importantly, then, is the easy adjustability o f the fork’s travel; the Helm is internally adjustable from 100mm to 170m of travel. It can be configured to fit almost any mountain bike out there.
Dependability: All Helm forks are assembled by hand in Cane Creek’s North Carolina factory. Quality control is of utmost importance to Cane Creek, and this shows in the track record of this fork so far- outstanding performance across its test platforms.
Adaptability: If the Helm fork is going to suitable for riders across a variety of disciplines, it needs to be adaptable tot he different terrains that it will encounter- and this means more than just changing the travel. The Helm fork features an external negative air adjustment valve, allowing riders to set up the fork as subtly or firmly as they like, using only a shock pump. Additionally, the air volume of the fork is internally adjustable using a 7-position air spring head.
