Designed with comfort in mind, the Lazer Jane is a wonderful helmet for your off-road adventures.
It is lightweight and well vented with a superb fit. For all of its great features, its price is very reasonable (MSRP $139.99 CAD).
The most striking feature of the helmet is its impeccable fit. The Jane felt extremely comfortable and snug while riding. I attribute its flawless fit to Lazer’s Advanced Rollsys system (ARS). The ARS tightening mechanism surrounds your head completely, narrowing progressively and symmetrically around your skull. This eliminates any potential pressure points on your head. As I dialed in the retention system, I could really notice how it tightened evenly around my head with no pressure points at all. The thumb wheel is situated on the top of the helmet as a posed to the rear, which leaves more space in the back for those sporting ponytails. I also loved the adjustable head basket in the rear, which can be moved up or down. I preferred position 5 as it cradled the base of my skull making the helmet feel extra secure.
The light weight and 24 vents makes this helmet the perfect choice for cross-country mountain bikers. The sleek look and comfortable fit also make the Jane an ideal candidate for recreational riders without drop bars. If you have drop bars, the Lazer Monroe offers a similar fit and price point without a visor to limit visibility. If you prefer to have a helmet with a longer profile in the rear for enduro, the Lazer Jade offers this along with the same great fit features as the Jane.
Although the Jane is a women’s specific helmet, men need not despair! The ROX, Lazer’s comparable offering, is as equally stylish and feature filled as the Jane.
