WSJ’s blog reviews the latest wireless bike gadgets in “Cycling Gear With Brains”

In a few short years since the development of the smart phone and Bluetooth devices, it seems as though there are endless options to record your ride. The Wall Street Journal online took a look at this market, including tests of the Wahoo Fitness RFLKT+ Monitor plus speed and cadence sensors, and the Lazer Lifebeam helmet.

The $299* LifeBeam helmet records your pulse using an optical sensor on the forehead that can monitor blood flow. The one I tried displayed nicely on my RFLKT computer. This is the kind of gadget I love because it’s not adding to the equipment I need. You do have to remember to charge your helmet’s battery…(*CAD MSRP)
