Greipel-worthy Ridley Fenix featured in Bicycling’s Gear & Bike
Bicycling magazine‘s Matt Allyn says the Ridley Fenix (choice of top pro Andre Greipel) is ideal for your own fast spins on farm roads:
“In developing the Fenix, Ridley combined the best traits of two of its top-tier models, Damocles and Excalibur. The resulting bike has the stiffness and durability of the Damocles, with the lighter construction and comfort of the Excalibur—a combination ideal for the sometimes rough farm roads of our test grounds.
Ridley’s balanced geometry helped me keep my arc through winding descents and across loose, bumpy paths. Ridley says that changing the stem angle lets the bike’s medium-length head tube (205mm on my large) satisfy both flexible racers and cyclotourists who prefer an upright position. The Fenix shares geometry with the rest of Ridley’s race bikes; a design that’s capable of letting you maneuver in a high-speed peloton, on slower rides with others, or solo. And though the high-end Noah FAST and Helium SL are the brand’s top models, top pro Andre Greipel opted to ride this one in last spring’s cobbled Classics…”
