After a remarkable string of success in the US, Silber Pro Cycling<\/a> returned home to Quebec and defended its\u00a02015 victory<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0at a cold, wet, hardcore racer\u2019s edition of the\u00a0GP Cycliste de Saguenay<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ben Perry<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0won the opening stage in miserable weather conditions from a small break that at one time contained 5 riders from Silber. Perry went on to keep\u00a0the yellow jersey until the final kms of the last stage, when a small group including the wily\u00a0Ryan Roth<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0went up the road. Roth would finish 2nd and the time gap allowed him to take the overall. Ben finished 2nd in GC and also won the Green and White jerseys. Aside from Ben\u2019s win, the team was on the podium 3 times and had 5 riders finish\u00a0in the top 10 GC: \u00a0Alex Cataford<\/strong><\/a>\u00a05th,\u00a0Matteo Dal-Cin<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>6th and\u00a0Nicolas Masbourian<\/strong><\/a>\u00a010th. Here are 4\u00a0things to soak in from Saguenay:<\/p>\n

  1. Roth is on a roll, with his recent win\u00a0at\u00a0Winston Salem and now the overall at the GP de Saguenay.<\/li>\n
  2. Perry is a rider to watch. The two-time defending U23 National Champ notched his second career win on the America Tour. He won the KOM at the Tour of Alberta in 2015 and oh, he\u2019s still U23.<\/li>\n
  3. Silber Pro Cycling is thick with next-level talent and has the ability to develop riders: Dal-Cin, Ellsay, Cataford and Perry\u2026 with the leadership of Roth and directing savvy of Gord Fraser. Take note:\u00a0Nicolas Masbourian is a U23 \u00a0rider on the rise.<\/li>\n
  4. Silber Pro Cycling is now the top-ranked team on the UCI America Tour<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Having professional staff and the right\u00a0equipment helps breed success\u00a0in tough race conditions. We have to give a\u00a0bowl-of-hot-soup-thanks\u00a0to our soigneur, Delphine Leray and mechanic, Doug Berner, for all their extra work in the cold.\u00a0Giordana\u2019s G-Shield<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0line was a huge advantage in the rain, as were our\u00a0high-ranked<\/strong><\/a>, grippy\u00a0Zipp Tangente tubulars<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
