\u201cAs I said last month, getting into Taiwanese factories isn\u2019t an easy process as many doors are kept firmly locked to outsiders, but Spank were an exception to the rule. Rather than keep prying eyes out, Spank are keen to let the world know how their company works, and what exactly it is that they get up to over in Taiwan. After a trip on one of Taiwan\u2019s high speed trains I headed from Taipei down to Taichung, a city\u00a0that is home to a huge amount of the bike industry, including Spank\u2026<\/p>\n

First stop was Spank HQ, which is conveniently situated in a small tower block above The Early Bird Diner, a favourite hangout for many in the bike industry. I didn\u2019t know this and so it was a bit of a surprise when, despite being the other side of the world, I found myself bumping into a friend from back home. I hate the expression \u201cit\u2019s a small world\u201d, but when you\u2019re involved in the bike industry it certainly seems to be that way. This is perhaps no more evident than when you realise that so many brands have their products made in the same factory\u2026\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
