{"id":4831,"date":"2014-11-25T08:00:12","date_gmt":"2014-11-25T16:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"\/\/livetoplaysports.com\/news-press\/?p=4831"},"modified":"2015-06-11T16:12:29","modified_gmt":"2015-06-11T23:12:29","slug":"live-to-play-sports-supports-vancouver-commuters-at-hubs-bike-to-work-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/livetoplaysports.com\/news-press\/2014\/11\/live-to-play-sports-supports-vancouver-commuters-at-hubs-bike-to-work-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Live to Play Sports supports Vancouver commuters at HUB\u2019s Bike to Work Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/\/livetoplaysports.com\/news-press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/2014_10_DustanSept_BTWW-7509.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4835\" src=\"\/\/livetoplaysports.com\/news-press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/2014_10_DustanSept_BTWW-7509-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"2014_10_DustanSept_BTWW-7509\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/livetoplaysports.com\/news-press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/2014_10_DustanSept_BTWW-7509-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/livetoplaysports.com\/news-press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/2014_10_DustanSept_BTWW-7509-449x300.jpg 449w, https:\/\/livetoplaysports.com\/news-press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/2014_10_DustanSept_BTWW-7509.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Over 4,300 riders took part in last month\u2019s Bike to Work Week in Metro Vancouver where Norco Bicycles \/ LTP was on hand to support commuters and give away great prizing.<\/p>\n<p>More than 30 Celebration Stations were set up around the city to encourage both new and experienced bike commuters to cycle to work.<\/p>\n<p>Though weather was cold and rainy for much of the week, HUB reports that the event attracted more rides than ever, including 740 new cyclists!<\/p>\n<p>As sponsor of the event, the Norco Bicycles offered tech support to riders at stations across the city and displayed bikes and accessories from <a href=\"\/\/www.endurasport.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Endura<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.serfas.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Serfas<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/www.knog.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">Knog<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/www.axiomgear.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Axiom<\/a>, and <a href=\"\/\/www.topeak.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Topeak<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To get a better understanding of who is commuting in Vancouver, we surveyed more than 100 Bike to Work Week participants and learned that more than 90% of respondents commuted more than once weekly. When asked about what gear they valued most, lights came in on top (32%), next was fenders (23%), and locks (17%).
