Jakob Hartman is LTP Sports’ newest team rider, and he brings a signature big-mountain style that you don’t see too often outside of the BC interior. Jakob works and rides from the Kamloops Bike Ranch, driving the Mostly Mental Shuttle van, and perfecting his lines down the vast number of jump trails and chutes in the area.<\/p>\n

Jakob settled on the Norco Range<\/a> as his weapon of choice for his high-flying escapades. 650b wheels, slack and capable geometry, and 180mm of travel make for the perfect mix of characteristics to keep Jakob rubber-side-down (most of the time).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Jakob is running Spank’s 350 Vibrocore wheels<\/a>, Oozy saddle<\/a>, Spike pedals and 800mm Vibrocore bar<\/a>. The pursuit of bigger tricks on gnarlier lines involves a lot of sideways landings and and Spank’s resilient Vibrocore components are tough enough to stand up to the abuse, while deadening the vibrations from the worst of the impacts.<\/p>\n

Sure, Jakob’s feet spend less time on the pedals than most riders, but when the landing is approaching and he needs to get his feet planted back on his Spank Spike pedals<\/a>, he relies on the grip and durability of his Five Ten Freerider’s<\/a> to ensure that he’s stuck in place.<\/p>\n

When a sketchy line or big trick goes awry, Jakob relies on an IXS Xult helmet <\/a>and Carve Evo+ kneepads<\/a> to keep his blood on the inside and his brain functioning properly. With X-matter protection designed to absorb impacts and redistribute impact forces, IXS pads and full-face helmets pass the strictest protection standards<\/a> to keep riders safe.<\/p>\n
