I’m a fickle guy when it comes to shorts- bike shorts in particular, but the Endura Hummvee II baggy shorts won me over immediately. I’ve never worn a pair of shorts that were as comfortable on and off the trail. The fit is fantastic, the finish is the amazing quality I’ve come to expect from Endura apparel, and the features are well thought out and functional.
The fit: Being a lanky guy, and I often have trouble finding shorts in a waist size and leg length combo that works for me. The Hummee II shorts are an ideal length, long enough to cover my knees when standing, but not too long so that they bind with my knee pads when riding. The backside of the shorts is designed with a high-stretch panel, so there’s no worry of the shorts slipping down when seated; brilliant!
The design of the Hummvee II shorts shows evidence of a long design process, by people who really ride in the clothing they make. The pocket placement is perfect, and the finish on all storage features is perfectly executed. Velcro on the back pockets make for easy and quick access, without worrying about losing your wallet or phone if you get really rowdy on the trail. Front pockets are zippered, ensuring that keys, change, or bike park passes stay where you put them. There are additional zippered pockets near the bottom of both legs which fit multitools and other heavy objects perfectly, without letting them swing around too much. Zip-up vents mid-thigh are a welcome addition on hot dusty climbs, and are hardly visible when closed, retaining the shorts’ casual appearance.
The Hummvee II shorts come with a removable padded liner for those who spend a lot of time climbing. Endura padded shorts are long lasting, comfortable, and unobtrusive. My only complaint with the shorts is that I find the padded liners are cut a little higher than I prefer, though this is only a minor issue of personal preference. The liners are easy to wash, and snap out when not needed.
I’ve been super happy with my Endura Hummvee II shorts thus far, and look forward to many more miles of trail in them! If you’re interested in trying a pair on for yourself, head to your local LTP Sports dealer!
