NSMB Reviews the Endura MT500 Waterproof Shorts

While the rest of the country is snowed-in, the ‘wet coast’ is living up to its name. After several months of rain, the trails are a muddy mess, and even those designed for winter riding have enough water on them to soak through all but the best wet-weather gear. Endura have a solution for riders who can’t stay off the bike and wait out the rain. Designed and tested in the rainy Scottish Highlands, Endura’s MT500 series of waterproof shorts will keep you dry no matter the conditions.

We recently sent a pair of MT500 Waterproof shorts to the folks at NSMB for testing. After a few rides, they came back with a positive review and some very helpful feedback.

Andrew Major from NSMB is no stranger to riding in the rain, and no stranger to suffering through poorly-vented or inflexible waterproof shorts.

“The MT500 shorts are very pedalable for a waterproof-breathable product and they are surprisingly stretchy. They’re not as flexible as non-weatherproofed shorts but they also aren’t like wearing waxed cardboard.”
-Andrew Major

Andrew did have some complaints about the shorts- preferring the belt loops and longer leg length of the MT500 Spray 3/4 baggy, but overall his review was very positive, after months of heavy use.

“So far this winter it’s been the short I need. Almost every ride. I hate wearing gungy stuff so these shorts have been on a wash, dry, repeat cycle that rivals my shower routine and they look and stretch as new.”
-Andrew Major
